Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation owns and manages acres of forest. Much of this forested land is left alone with minimal management beside the removal of hazard trees along trails, roads and property lines. With the recent arrival of the southern pine beetle and beech leaf disease SMF is taking a more active role in some of our forests. Adam Moore, President at SMF, is a licensed forester.

With the recent arrival of the southern pine beetle and beech leaf disease SMF is taking a more active role in some of our forests. Adam Moore, President at SMF, is a licensed forester.Adam and the field staff set up permanent monitoring plots and conducted forest inventories at properties where we have vast dense pitch pine stands. These inventories are used to write forest stewardship and forest cutting plans. Each property is unique and will be managed differently depending on the history, rare species, public use and abutting neighborhoods.
