Slater Preserve

Hours: Dawn to Dusk

Enjoy meandering through oak woodlands, pockets of scrub oak, sassafras trees, and a beech grove on this 14-acre preserve located off Chappaquiddick Road.

There is a bench in the beech grove, a few minutes walk from the eastern trailhead, amidst an understory of huckleberry, hazelnut, and blueberry.

There is no parking at this preserve, but you can access it by walking along Chappaquiddick Road from the Chappy Ferry or Chappy Community Center, about a mile to the east.
