Create Your Legacy to Support Land Conservation

Legacy (Planned) Giving

Create your legacy to support Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation

Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation has created a program to encourage Legacy Giving to the organization. This is critically important, as legacy gifts are essential to growing Sheriff’s Meadow’s endowment, and the endowment is essential to the Foundation’s perpetual duty to care for the lands entrusted to it.

Your gifts, as individual donors, compose the primary means of support for all of Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation’s endeavors. Through the Annual Fund, the Summer Benefit, and through other general purpose giving, these unrestricted individual gifts support about 70% of our annual operating budget. Only 20% of our operating budget comes from transfers from the endowment, subject to a conservative spending policy, or from restricted gifts. It is a strategic goal of Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation to grow the endowment so that it can ultimately provide half of our operating support.

Donor Advised Funds2024-11-27T10:12:08-05:00

A donor-advised fund (DAF) succession plan is an important part of your overall estate plan and charitable legacy. It involves directing your DAF sponsor on how to manage or distribute assets remaining in your charitable giving fund after your lifetime. Without a succession plan, funds remaining in your DAF could be rolled into the sponsor’s own charitable fund, to be distributed as the sponsor chooses and not according to your wishes. Our gift planning team is always available to discuss your succession plan or other legacy giving opportunities.
